The Creality Falcon CR-Laser is a diode laser engraver: its blue laser engraves and cuts wood, plywood, leather, paper, cardboard, fabric and dark or opaque acrylic, and marks coated or painted metal. It cannot cut clear or blue acrylic, which lets blue light through, and bare metal needs far more power or a different laser.

It has a rated laser power of 5 W – 10 W depending on the model, an optical output of 5 W, a work area of 400 × 415 mm (15.7 × 16.3 in) and a top engraving speed of 167 mm/s.

The brand states that it cuts up to 12 mm of wood or plywood and 3 mm of acrylic; thicker material takes several passes, and results depend on the material and air assist.

It works with support for a rotary attachment to engrave tumblers and other round objects and LightBurn and LaserGRBL software.

Every laser engraver makes smoke and fumes: run it with an exhaust to the outdoors or a fume purifier. Never cut PVC or vinyl, which release corrosive chlorine gas.
